Re: UBER SS

Spent some more time working on the El Co this Saturday.

Old fuel line (hated it!).

New fuel line (love it!)
It's a Jegs kit. Thing I like the most about it is that the tighening flats for the bowl tubes are away from the bowls. I never could get a 1 inch wrench to work well at the bowls due to lack of clearance.
I still need to install the Nitrous WOT switch.

I also ran a new fuel line from the regulator to the carb with a 30deg hose end to smooth out the angle.

This is/was my new 14 x 4 air filter, but had to take it back off as it hit the under side of the hood. Not the cowl, but the framework under the hood. The air cleaner, and I guess engine, sits a little closer to the passenger side of the car for some reason. If you were standing in front of the El Co looking at the air cleaner as a clock, it was hitting at the 10:00-11:00 position. A quarter of an inch is all that was in the way. Still trying to work this issue out.

While trying to find out why the air cleaner was hitting the underside of the hood I found the transmission mount was in two pieces. So I installed this Energy Suspension trans mount. Its beefy and well put together. And it's a "captured" mount that won't competely seperate like a factory mount. It raised the tail of the tranny about 1 inch which improved my drive line angles. Air cleaner still hit after replacing the mount.

New radiator should be here tomorrow.
