Scheides - can you draw a little diagram to help explain what you did? Sorry I get easily confused

95Talonracer - I personally wouldn't go with that method. You have no vacuum source to draw the air out at idle/low throttle conditions.
Also, you have eliminated your PCV. Normally, you are drawing a little bit of air from the VC into the IM. This is unmetered air, but the ECU expects that air to be there and compensates for that. If you get rid of that, you may notice a change in your idle quality.
Also you are going to leave an oily mess under that little filter.
