Alex at MAP already knows what is needed to fix it. All that is needed is some sealant and a gasket and o-ring for when the water pump is re-installed. The water pump is the hard part about the fix I guess, need to remove it to get to the spot. After that it is clean the area, sand it down a bit and apply new sealant.
But I am interested to see what happens. I will post up the outcome.
