I would be tempted to get a canadian skyline and register it as a maxima, and do a vin plate swap (If I had the money that is) but I would still be worried about the one time I would get pulled over and they would think I was suspicious enough to run a VIN or do a more in depth check, and then my car would be gone, and I would probably be in jail. Not worth it IMO.

In North Carolina there was a guy with a white R33 which he said the vin is a 300zx. Still RWD and could be twin turbo. I have heard of people using 240sx vins etc, but this is the only guy I know of that is supposedly doing that. He said he has had no problems with the vin, but of course plenty of problems with getting pulled over.
