I think most people who are up on there knowledge know that the original meaning of DSM is Diamond Star Motors. In other words the joint venture between Mitsu and Chrysler. But those same people in the know generally agree that the term "DSM" has emerged to mean these certain cars that share most of there mechanical parts. (Eclipse/Talon/Laser/GVR4) Otherwise a 99 Eclipse GSX techniclly isn't a DSM, because the joint venture was over in 1995, and after that Mitsu owned the plant in Illinois.
The most interesting question I have, is if Galant VR4s aren't DSMs, then why are they on every DSM messageboard and mailing list out there???

We all know that they are made in Japan, but common, they share so many parts.
Any other thoughts on the subject??
Thanks,
