I know it sounds like a basic answer, but it's the easiest way to troubleshoot it. Just remember the motto of troubleshooters "Eliminate the simple stuff first."
Good Luck. If you need some help with it (tracing wires and such) I can bring my mutlimeter up there and take a look at it. As long as you have a garage or something to do it in.
