Pop the car up on jack stands and see if you can get it to make the noise. You should be able to tell easily where it is coming from at that point. The driveshaft isn't rubbing on the exhaust, is it?

Jet, i kinda got that vibe also about defending his work,.. and im sure he has had many succesfull tranny overhauls. Im 99% sure the drive shaft isnt rubbing, Im gonna put up on stands and give that a shot to see if I can pinpoint exactley where it could be coming from.
