The other problem here is that a bank won't give you a loan over blue book value, and pretty much all turbo DSM's sell for over book. And for buying someone's modded car for way over book, you need a home equity loan, a pile of cash laying around, or a personal loan from a friend. I'd get a cheap car you can afford if your parents won't co-sign and do as others suggested here about building up credit. A good credit score will save you many thousands of dollars over the years.
