Agreed.....the balance shafts FAQ (www.vfaq.com) explains it very well with pics. I have always used the 'kit' or the factory 1.6L stuff. Not only does it get rid of those pesky BS's that love to spin bearings or get old and wobbly and get all wallowed in your block (which hurts oil pressure BADLY), the infamous BS belt is often known for breaking sooner than the main TB and often gets caught up in the main TB and we all know what that means. So do yourself a favor, make your engine spin faster, make more oil pressure, make more hp and generally be more reliable......ditch those bad boys.

And as for the Topline stuff........there's just something about a COMPLETE rebuild kit for under $500. Most of the oil pumps alone are $200+ and pistons are $150-200. They must be cutting corners somewhere.
