last night i was messing around and was able to make the cmos see the remaining portion of the hard drive, i then installed windows xp again and it was also able to see the 120gigs i left the partition as ntfs and did not format it, so if there was any files that could be saved maybe this would make it easier. but when i reinstalled xp and it finished the install then i looked to see if the files were there and they werent. SO i installed Active Undelete to search for any deleted partitions, and last night i believe it saw one so ill have to check it out and see if i can recover the file, keep your fingers crossed.
