I agree with MOST of that.
I just don't think that Kerry would even be so close if it weren't for two things:
1) September 11th, 2001. Let's say Al Gore won. We would all be blaming the economy on him, AND I highly doubt he would have gone to war over this. If we had not gone to war, what kind of signal does that send to other contries. That the US will just roll over and take it. Just like Clinton did. How many times under the Clinton Administration did Sadaam refuse entry to UN Weapons inspectors? Too many to count. And he also had the chance to catch Osama Bin Ladin, which he didn't. Republicans have BAD ideas, but Democrats don't have any of their own. Which is more dangerous? Apparently Kerry has "A PLAN". I know cause I heard him say it about 75 times last night. The only plan I see him talking about is bashing Bush. If he would just tell me what he believes is good for the country, I might be able to believe it too. He just keeps telling me what Bush is doing wrong, and I think we all know all that stuff anyway.
TO elaborate: If Bush was in office, and Sept 11 never happened, I highly doubt the economy would suck as bad as it does, but it's still improving.
2) His wife. HE is not a Millionaire, his wife is. I heard about his wife before I even knew that her husband was a Senator. And it says something about a man who spends millions on himself, and wants to raise taxes. I guess I don't own a house, and I don't pay a lot of taxes, so I really don't have an opinion there. But Kerry was dead wrong with education last night. Pell Grants aren't going down, I got one, and it paid for my school. I even applied for Financial Aid late, so most of them were already awarded, and I was given one 3 days before school started. Kerry wants to give me loans. The last thing I need is another loan. I do think that I should be held accountable for my schooling, but government funded schools are charging almost as much as private or religeous institutions, so if I go to a state school, the state better help pay if their going to charge me private school tuition.
I guess I just don't see a lot of good coming from the Kerry corner. Bush didn't do everything right, but he did what he THOUGHT was right, and stuck to it.
"I actually voted for the 87 Billion dollar funding before I voted against it"
What is that? Scary.
I also recall him saying that Sadaam Hussein was not a credible threat to the US yet.
Should we wait til he is, John Kerry? So we can repeat a Sept 11 like catastrophe? No thanks. We may never know what Sadaam is capable of, but in my eyes, that's a good thing.
