I have run a TRE and a Shindley tranny. I used the TRE with the BG2 in it and with GM Syncromesh. There wasn't much difference. I have used GM Syncromesh and Redline in the Shindley. I prefer the GM. I have found the tranny much stiffer and notchier with the redline.
On tranny builders, there is no difference between my TRE tranny and the Shindley tranny. I know nothing of the Shepard or Magnus Trannys, never even looked on there sites. As far as I know all of the double syncros are availible from the dealership, not sure about the hardened shift forks or rails. Unless they have some sort of special magic parts they use they will be the same from almost anyone who can put a box together. YMMV.
At least we can all be happy we don't have WRX boxes.
