I personally think it breaks alot of stuff. I've had both, the only transmissions I've ever had trouble with were welded center diff ones... sheared the hollow shaft that drives the front diff, sheared all the teeth off the center diff cause the heat from welding softened the temper on the gear. Then I went to a factory 2 spider center and did not have another issue on a 50 trim car.
If you watch the video's of the welded diff guys in slow mo, they have this driveline slamming that occurs when each axle slips, then takes up all the slack then it makes the other axle slip, that hop cannot be good for anything.
