I never would've felt comfortable if weapons were allowed in the barracks or carried around all the time. You get people from every walk of life there. Most are fine. But you get your fair share of crazies and suicidals who aren't up to the task. You also have your raging, and I mean raging alcoholics. Nevermind the rest who only get into a stupor on the weekends. Living on base, it's not like you just get to go home at night, unless you're married. You live in the barracks with the people you work with. More than once I had the door in my room kicked in by some fuck in a black out that didn't know where they were.
FUCK NO! to weapons carried on base.

Meh. Same people on bases in Iraq and Afghanistan, and every one of us carried a weapon + plenty of ammo everywhere we went. Nobody ever got shot up over there, and that was having the ste]ressors of war ad being away from home added to your daily life. At home you have your family and everything, I think if it was going to happen it would happen over there before it would at home. Drugs and alcohol were just as easy to find over there too.
