BTW, I'm all for solar, wind and hydro electric power,......... But we are a long way away from producing energy that comes close what fossil fuels can. Fossil fuels still have the highest energy output per volume used.
We are a good deal away, but i think is closer than you think. Are we going to eliminate fossil fuels anytime soon. No. But the demand will continue to decrease as cars get more efficient and more geared towards EVs. The more electric vehicles we get, the more viable Solar and wind becomes. Solar panels main challenge is getting the output of the panels more efficient. But they have been increasing more and more every year. (I used to work for a company called Polytec which creates laser vibrometers (laser system that measures vibrations to a picometer) and they were essential in aiding the efficiency of solar panels among other things)
