I still stand with my belief that the Bill of Rights is about you and me and what the government can not do, whether state or federal. The 2nd amendment is so clear and simple there is nothing to interpret. And it was written that way on purpose, clear and concise.
Even if we don't agree on anything else, I do agree that talking about it is a good thing. It's easy to get caught up in the ultra-polarized political rhetoric these days. There seems to be so much mistrust between the two sides and that can make it hard to relate to the people on the other side.

When it comes to our military, and as much money as we spend on it, we better be able to handle everything and more that the world throws at us without any help from the public. If not, we are not very good at budgeting. lol

As far as the origins of the bill of rights and 2nd, I can agree to disagree on that one. I respect your view of it. I grew up in a conservative family, but we never had guns so it wasn't much of a concern with my belief system when I identified as a conservative. Now I just try to remain fair minded and follow what I believe are the facts.
