^ This is basically what I am doing. I am running all my own HT wiring and installing my drop down screen. I am having someone else do the sheet rock. I already had an electrician run the 115v wiring.

I could come over and check the place out and give you some recommendations. Good HT projectors run from $700 - $3,500. 4k resolution stuff is out there and should be mainstream in a year or 2. I might go less expensive now and upgrade again in the future. Most of your current stuff should work now, speakers might be something to look at though, especially ceiling and wall mounted stuff.
