Re: New guy on the board

3 year sleepydsm bump! I forgot about this thread. It is pretty funny to look back at when I got the car compared to where it is now! I am not doing much with the car this winter. I put it away in good running condition last year, which was a first. I would like to get it back to Ron's to see if it can keep a head gasket in it with a bit more power. The night before the Porky's shootout it blew a headgasket on Ron's dyno so we had to stop at 720. I did a last minute head gasket swap and went down to cedar falls to try to get my 8 second pass. I was really hopeful, as it did the 9.22 on nearly 100 less hp, and my car is over 100 lbs lighter now. Things didn't go as planned!
I have to really step on the brake pedal to stop the car from pulling through the brakes at the line. When I was on the brakes and spraying through the two step, I heard a loud bang when the light turned green. I launched hard so I stayed in it for a second thinking maybe it was a backfire. In second gear I realized what might have happened and poked the brake pedal. NOTHING! shit shit shit! No handbrake no foot brake at 90mph. All I could do was ratchet back down the gears. Luckily the guy next to me broke, so I had room to get to the turnoff. Turns out I broke the ears off my master cylinder. I have never seen that one before. I have a new smaller diameter master cylinder on it now, and am trying to get out to make some license passes in April so I don't get booted anymore. The cams are plain jane gsc s3's thrown in on stock gears. Here are some pictures of the headgasket blowout, and the master cylinder carnage.

Kelsey took this picture with her phone and I like it a lot
