you're wasting your time on the driveshaft, IMO.

Unless the U-joints are so bad there's side to side/in and out play in the joint, it probably won't be your issue.

Most DSMs driving on the road now (wait... are there any other than mine?

have notchy U-joints.

I've taken apart about 4-5 in the last few months and... all were notchy.
