.270 is just a necked down 30-06 and ammo is the same price since it is so popular. The more expensive Savage's have much smoother actions. It seems like this is intentionally sloppy so they only have to hold the tight tolerance for accuracy at the very end when the bolt engages. I don't think there is a better sub-$300 rifle out there though. Perfect for a deer hunting rifle that is going to get abused like mine
So, I want to get a couple of pistols. Probably a high capacity 9mm for concealed carry (not too huge like a 1911) and a 22LR semi. I would like to stay around $400 for the 9mm and $250 on the 22LR, but it isn't set in stone. What do you guys recommend? Used is ok.
