Just because they have a lot of mim parts. Personally I don't like the idea of mim parts in something I'm going to carry and I don't want to shell out for a Kimber then have to spend a few hundred more replacing those parts. But that's just me. I know people who love them and have never had a problem and have heard many people who have had lots of problems with them.
