I don't know if the cryo treatment would help any here, I think the clutch cut would help immensely.

The problem is, by the time you hit the switch, you're pretty much already in the next gear and if you lift the clutch a half an inch off the floor, the clutch is still disengaged but the car will jump back up to redline.
I was thinking of some sort of pressure switch on both sides of the shifter. So when he pulls it to 2nd/4th and when he pushes to 3rd, it simulates the clutch switch.
For now I think he is just planning on lifting to shift.
That should be a lot less harsh than using a clutch cut or not lifting hopefully keeping it together longer than 3 passes.
