Osama Bin Laden conspiracy theories debunked by Al Qaeda confirmation

Internet conspiracy theorists claiming terrorist Osama bin Laden is not dead appear to have been proved wrong after an al-Qaeda statement confirming their leader has passed away.

The terrorist group have published the statement on several militant Islamist websites, which would disprove a multitude of theories that the former 'most wanted' man is still alive.

The statement claims Bin Laden's blood 'will not be wasted' and the terror group has vowed to maintain its assault on the United States and its foreign interests and allies.

On Monday, the United States announced they had found and killed Bin Laden - the man thought to have masterminded the September 11th attacks on New York and Washington in 2001.

However, president Barack Obama later stated he would not be releasing pictures of the al-Qaeda chief's body, which were said to be 'gruesome' and showed 'brain matter' from an open wound.

Mr Obama's aides claimed the photo could be deemed 'inflammatory' and make retaliatory acts of terrorism from Bin Laden's supporters more likely.

Today's development will likely mean those photos will no longer be so eagerly sought by conspiracy theorists across the world, who have doubted the American government's claims.

The circumstances surrounding Bin Laden's killing, and the disposal of the body in a mysterious and swift burial at sea, had given rise to a multitude of alternative accounts.

But the US responded by saying they had acted quickly to bury Bin Laden in accordance with Islamic law, which dictates a person should be buried within 24 hours of their passing.
