LOL $2 Billion is a lot less than what is actually being spent, Conservative estimates are at around $14 BILLION. (very conservative).
It seems wars arent like they used to be, where the objective was to destroy the enemy, nowdays its to destroy, but make it ok by throwing money at them to rebuild what we just destroyed.
Kids do this all the time. Build a tower out of blocks, then destroys it, but as long as he knows he can rebuild it, it makes it ok. The US does this as well, tells the people of the country they are about to destroy, "we will rebuild it after we destroy your country and all of its cities" basically to get the ok to kill a bunch of people.
I was listening to Thom Hartman the other day. he stated "Afghanistan's GNP and the sum of all of the wages of the people of that country was around $2 billion a year.... $2 BILLION for all money exchanging hands. Why are we spending $14+ billion a year in a country that only has $2 billion a year. the average person there makes $500 a year in wages. We could have paid each and every one of them $1500 per year to kill the al qaeda themselves and turn in every one of them, and spent much less"
