2.3 Block - Here I come
August 2010 I spun rod bearing number 1. Shit. I was playing king of the streets and was having entirely to good of a time to care about the 13:1 AFRs. I purchased a parts evo earlier that year from Scheides and had most of the drivetrain still as I planned on building a motor eventually.
I started my 2.3 Build.
Parts ordered:
ACL Race Bearings
Mitsu balance shaft elim kit
Manley 2.3 forged crank
Eagle Rods
Manley Stoker Pistons
Machine work done by D&D Machining out of Bloomington
DB Performance helped with parts and some small issues as I was building my first motor
RS Motors helped with some build advice
MAP supplied some parts and helped fund my build by purchasing some evo blocks from me
Start up:
Here is what fuels Trevor when he helps me in the garage!
Trevor said "Once Jim got the suspension back together we took it for a ride. I did talk a little smack about kracka in this video haha. I was drunk I couldn't help it...Forgive me as I was pretty drunk!!"
Here are a couple more pics as well:
At this time I sent in my FP Red turbo to be converted to an FP Black
I also sold my 6 speed and brought Scheides' old 5 speed in to DB Performance for their Tranny rebuild service. Performed the 6 speed to 5 speed swap without much issue. I felt like I had been dodging a bullet running higher power through the 6 speed.
