One of the things that really annoys us NRA-types is people like you that don't understand guns and spout nonsense like this.
Automatic weapons are nearly impossible for a civlian to get. An AK-74 is a semi-auto and in most cases so-called assault weapons fire a cartridge that is less powerful than a typical hunting rifle.

You're correct about the ammo, but all it takes is a pin mod to make most guns like the AR-15 and AK fully auto.
