i really dont like that saying "Guns dont kill people, People do" (Before anyone jumps all over me for being anti gun, which i am not, hear me out).
Guns do not walk around killing people, But are a tool, and like any other tool, you need the right tool for the job. Hand Guns help protect your family, Hunting Rifles are great at killing animals for food, So what job is a tool like an AK-47 used for? or how about a Machine Gun?

I think the majority of American Citizens can agree that the ownership of arms to protect your family or hunt is fine and dandy, but it seems the main disagreement between parties, and groups comes down to What kind of guns should be allowed, and which people should be allowed to own guns. My personal opinion is that hand guns of a certain caliber, and hunting rifles of certain criteria should be allowed to be owned, but a ban on other criteria should also be put in place. I believe that assault rifles, (even though i love looking at them and think they are really cool) have no place in normal society, (war zones excluded, as i think in war, the best tool for the job should be used, (which should be a laser gun with unlimited ammo, like out of most video games)).

Sure, the gun didnt act on its on, the man had to pull the trigger. But would he have been as effective had he been using a bolt action rifle? or a hand gun? or a bow and arrow? probably not.
