the rattles, very much so. Old cars rattle and you'll drive yourself crazy trying to fix them, so I just ignore them  As for ratty, I won't own a 'ratty' (read: smelly, interior falling apart and mistreated) car, that is disgusting. My interior is always very clean. Exterior is another story, but who really cares about that for a cheap DD?
