I've only run street tires(not that sticky either), and I've reasonably consistently run low 1.7's, and a few high 1.6's. (235/40-17)

I'd venture to guess anything stickier then street tires in 275's in an AWD EVO = Finding weak links.. $$. Even with street tires, we'll see how it goes for these guys. Could get expensive fast.

There is more to running 10's or faster then just making power. Those who have tried, know this, those who haven't will know when they get there.

Racing in general is humbling(drag race, road race, whatever..) when you actually do it.
