Re: Why do I keep blowing turbos?
Thanks for your responses gentlemen. Thinking back now, I've owned the car 7 years, but this year was the first year I've had turbo problems -and- ran oil from the OFH.
Also my balance shafts are removed. I don't have a numeric pressure gauge, but for what it's worth, the oil pressure at the stock sender is at the 2nd hash mark (the one on the right) when I'm on it.
Super Bleeder, it's a straight 30 non-detergent SJ variety (similar to Rotella Diesel)
Shane, I've got a crushed 1g BOV. When I am in a high load, low boost situation and let off the throttle before building more than a few PSI, I have a noise similar to compressor surge, but I am not sure if it is surge or BOV flutter. I am kinda inexperienced in that area to be honest.
Steve, I honestly do no know who rebuild the last two, I purchased them from local Mitsustyle members because I needed to hit certain deadlines. I am not opposed to buying a new turbo, but I need to make sure I do not wreck the next one too.
I'll be getting a new turbo over the off season, but for now, seeing I am the only DSM signed up for the Fall cruise (FFS people...) I am not sure I can get a new turbo in that quickly...
