Re: What does it take to run a 10? 500whp@DB, practice, or both? Neither?
So I spoke with Shane today, the guru of drag and evo's, when I dropped my intake off and he said something kind of funny that I think is totally true.
His words were, a good run is luck, lol. He said it has to all fall into place to get a great run.
I think its totally true, unless you are a baller driver, it will take a lucky run to get what you want. Obviously you need the power/weight ratio at a minimum, but beyond that it's luck, the launch and 1-2 shift and still hitting the others. It all has to fall into place. So like I said, i will just be happy to get my car to the strip in one piece, i will worry about times after. But i almost laughed when he said this, because it is so true.
He also said some people, like i guess this curt brown guy in DSM's, are just so awesome, they can jump in your car and drive it 1/2 second faster than you ever possibly could and that is how most of these shops like AWD motorsports run their cars, with super crazy tunes and professional drivers...
So basically, just focus on getting better and worry about you vs yourself, ignore what other people can do. Something I will try to focus on, since a 10 will not happen anytime soon as this thread indicates, lol. All along I was simply trying to say the car will be 10 capable, for a pro driver, maybe i got a little carried away.
Shane always puts stuff into perspective...man i want a car, lol.
