the 1g rods the bolts are a press fit in the rod, so the rod piston combo would have to be popped out of the block.

yes the rod bolts can be changed with the pistons on the rod.

when the rod bolts are changed, the rod should be checked for round and resized as needed.
the 2g rods run a grooved slip fit bolt that can be changed in the engine with less of a chance of being out of round if caution is taken to line the grooves up with the new bolts to the old grooves in the rod bolt bore.
