^That's what I essentially ended up doing. Mild tune first, big tune after clutch/flywheel/SSP MC.
I honestly think you will find it easier to do this. Plus you can break in some parts first. Maybe do the internals/cams first...that way those will be all good to go so your not dyno'ing on them new.
Just a thought. Turbo is obviously more appealing.
