That's nearly exactly what mine looks like. I've had to hit the ground a few times from flying boost leak tester parts too. I need to invest a little more money and make a really nice one that will hold up.
Maybe use a small metal cylinder with one of those metal caps with the square nob on top. Tap it and put a nice fitting in. Get a nice silicone coupler and a few t-bolt clamps to throw on the end and I think you'd have a pretty nice set-up.
