could be a kink, or leak in the vac line to the boost gauge, or a collapsed one going through the firewall. I know I had issues on multiple occasions with the tiny clear line supplied with autometer boost gauges collapsing
if that's the case, the boost might be higher than it's actually reading, thus, your hitting fuel cut.
How did the car feel (power-wise) compared to before?
