What the hell are you talking about? He has a Dsmlink, so he can set the timing. He will be tuning off of knock (preferably a WB02 though).

There are 2 main ways to prevent knock (in tuning), add more fuel or retard the timing. It sounds like you need the throw some more fuel at it to subdue the knock some. There are other things that will help, but they are mechanical things.
