Yeah, I had one a week ago. My right rear brake caliper sticks a little sometimes, so the Grand Am can be a bit of a drift machine sometimes.
I was taking 101 North to Wayzata, going around the curve onto the Gray's Bay bridge. Rear end decides it's drift time and I'm sliding sideways around the corner onto the bridge with oncoming traffic. I already have the counter steer in and am just sliding sideways in the lane. The oncoming traffic freaked me a little and made me think "what should I do" for a second. The answer was wait for the corner to end, and a little more throttle.
Yours sounds a bit more scary to me, I’m used to my car doing it, just there’s normally not any oncoming traffic. Corrections at speeds over 50 MPH start getting very hard to get right, very easy to over correct since a small wheel movment produces large results (think lane changes).
