Re: Holset Turbos

^wow.
Actually everything in the hundreds of pages of Holset experiment users say opposite of your whole post. Who is right? I don't know.

They are proving spool and better top end.
ex. HX40 in mitsu .55AR housing 650whp, HX35 in a bolt on housing 26psi 494/420.

I am thinking about the same thing, in a nutshell if you want 61/35 like power do the HX40, you want something with a spool comparable to a E316G (don't know how much I believe this) but with flow better than a 50 trim do a HX35.
You have options for .55AR mitsu, BEP T3 .70AR, or stock holset where people have cut the divider (don't know how effective) or are having divided manifolds made.

My choice is HX-35, but being budget minded I might have to pay some $$$ to make it happen. I want it in a bolt on with internal gate.
It would cost me $360ish for the exhaust housing, lines, gasket + holset itself.
I think these turbos are appealing because of the spool/top end, but also because of the durability of a OEM turbo, I am not knocking any other turbo here.
Hope that helps.
