v6 fieros can get mid 20's for gas milage. The 2.8 V6 doesn't last much past 160K or so without some attention to the valvetrain. Lifters will start to tick like crazy but can be driven for quite awhile.
The 2.5 iron duke powered Fieros have 96HP and 150 ftlbs of torque, oh and don't rev past the redline on the 2.5 (4500 RPM) or she'll let go on you. The 4 bangers like to go through timing gears a bit after 100K miles as they are made of nylon.
Fiero SE's or "notchback" GTs are some of the cheapest of the better looking Fieros. I would defintely email the seller and ask them why it has sat for a year and what it would need to run dependably. It looks all right, but i get the feeling it will need some attention. That one in the auction is more than likely a 4 speed unless the owner swapped it out.
I have a buddy who has a few for sale if you are interested. His shop is in hopkins, he always has a few for sale for a decent price.
BTW, I just took my Fiero out for a spin. Damn that suspension I put in is stiff. I need to have some new exhaust put on as my neighbors think I am firing up a stock car when I start it. I kinda like the sound though, I even got to scare away a kid in a Grand Am GT who wanted to race just by throwing a mean sounding rev at him. hehe
