from my searches people were saying to check the CAS as a source of problem for not having spark but what I am reading seems to contradict what others are saying. anyone know anything about it?

a faulty CRANKSHAFT position sensor (CKP) will definitly cause a no spark condition.
have you checked for power at the ignition coil?
