As far as cheap, reliable transportation goes, it's hard to beat a Toyota pick-up, they seem to run for ever. Good fuel economy too. Or you could stay close to the DSM family and get one of those 4g64 Sonata's, I'm sure they are really cheap, and it still gives you something you can tweak on. But you also want reliability, so maybe it's not a good idea :P .
