Overheating can also be cause buy a few other things. Bad radiator cap, shitty radiator, low coolant, bad mix, bad sensor, even not having operational fans can help the cause along. Don't forget about a blown head gasket as well.

These are all keys to any car, especially a 15 year old car, in getting it running correctly and keeping it that way.
