I remember when they lined up at SAR. That's Joe Hellmann's truck. That was back when he had a bone stock longblock with a couple hundred thousand miles and ran 10.80/10.90ish with street twins and nitrous. His new engine has run 10.50's with the same twins and no nitrous. At the time it was still a 6,500+lb truck.

The guys in the little car were shocked that they couldn't hardly shake that diesel in the big end. I believe Joe went somewhere close to 130 on that pass.

Should it be faster? Yes.

Now it's 5,800lbs, 4.10 gears, stock type automatic transmission and cuts 1.5OH sixty foots.

Aerodynamics on a truck really sucks. The lack of weight over the rear tires really sucks. He knows that and the rolling chassis is for sale. He's going to a tube chassis mid-size truck that should be nearly half the weight of his street truck.
