Re: 95 Gsx Project
You can slap all the moster parts on a car you want and 1 of 3 things will happen. It will run pretty nice for a short while. It will run like complete shit from the get go. It will break very quick. Get the motor built by someone local, even spending a tad more with taxes and such by going through someone like DB or LSE will be worth it when you not think about a local company you can hold accountable for the work and workmanship. A motor from Marco would be nice and he does some crazy shit, but unless it's a motor going into a race only car everything is pretty routine on 4G63s and 4G64s after 15 years of these cars being around.
Your list of parts leaves way to much to the imagination. Longblock... lets think about this and what this includes. Everything from the oil pan to the valve cover. That's a shit ton of $$$ and parts to balance in the bottom end and valvetrain. Pistons, bearings, rods, deck height & headgaskets, cams, cam gears, and everything else as well as a possible porting needs or wants. Where's the suspension, new motor mounts, bushings, tie rods, axels, and other drivetrain parts that should be upgraded or replaced with new stuff when power is doubled?
Last thing, please put $300 - $800 away for good tuning. Let on of these shops that spent 5 figures on a dyno use it to save a setup you just dumped 10+ grand into. Dyno's are just around to show off power, it's an investment that saves consumers money and allows them to continue the upgrading process opposed to always fixing broken shit or starting over.
