yep. there is such a thing as recycling. the navy has a ship graveyard, where tons of ships are stripped down, and docked side by side. they use parts off of them to repair a current ship, or they may even take a ship outta decommission and re-enlist it, as they did recently with operation iraqi freedom. then, it goes back to the graveyard, either to be destroyed, or broken down to repair another current fleet ship. submarines, aircraft carriers, destroyers, etc..I wanna go to this area someday..or even a naval base. I think it would be cool as hell to be on a small boat, next to a large as carrier or submarine.
