And ended up in many little pieces.
Atleast the rod bolts are still in tact, they are a little "worn" from impacting other shit while spinning around, but just a little rounded on the corner.
Oh and the block is fubar as well on the lower parts of the skirt it looks like. (Go to the link to see more damage, I"ll photograph it all when I get it more apart over the next week).

So I am voting it was a straight up power issue. Weather or not it was a faulty rod is another story, but I did find the weakness in it
