While i was underneath the car, I noticed that the rear boot that holds the driveshaft was basically crap. Lots of tears - you could move the driveshaft in all directions at least 1/2", if not more. Like I said, putting caulk in it over a day helped it a bit, but it didn't get rid of it.
Now, with my experience with my quest, I know that if the driveshaft is taken off, then put back on at a different place then when it was taken off, then a vibration can occur. I remember reading it happens at 55mph too. I was wondering, is the problem just that boot, or could the driveshaft be bolted on 'wrong'?

IDK how you could bolt it on wrong. I know you're supposed to make sure it was lined up the same when you took it off as when you put it back on. I'm not sure what speeds, but the tranny - tcase - driveshaft - diff would be all out of wack. If the carrier bearings are faxored on the driveshaft, that will definitly cause vibrations. I had the same problem
I'd love to say I got it fixed, but I totalled it a couple days after I found out.
It's hard to see the wear on your carrier bearings while it's in the car. It takes all of 20 minutes to take off your Tcase, the drive shaft bolts and to slide the shaft out of the diff. Look closely, I think the bearings are pretty spendy also.
