Then you don't know how to drive a FWD car. Like CVD said, momentum is your friend, as well as not high-centering you car on a snow drift.
My g/f's car (1990 buick park avenue) weighs approximately 8 tons, there is nothing stopping that thing once it gets going. And if it gets stuck, rocking it using reverse and drive, and then using 2nd gear will get it out of anything. It got over a snow pile that was almost a foot tall thanks to the snow plow, and that was coming out of a parallel parking spot, so I couldn't even build up a good head of steam.
