Hey Guys/Gals. I'm Matt and I'm moving to MN in FEB. My car is there; as you can see. I'm looking forward to getting my POS tuned and meeting you folks.

I am assuming it is another 11 sec car? Glad to see even more fast ones around! You will have to represent for the 2g's in MN, unless Shane gets his going. Are you planning on heading to the shootout?

It needs a lot of work..the AEM EMS is kickin' my a$$. Too many new mods! This is the first build since my stock 7-bolt walked, 20G, 720s, & AFC set-up. My "20G set-up" netted 367whp and a 12.42@115mph. It also netted 2-Trannies, 2-rear axles and a 7-bolt. I'm going to need some time & Tuning before I commit to Norwalk. |
Let me know if you need help with the EMS. I have one and so does John. I know my way around it pretty good. Which part of MN are you moving to?

The car is being stored in Brainerd and will get some TLC there. It needs a fuel cell and some re-wiring before i drive it any great distance. Thanks for the AEM help...that would be cool. All the fast DSMs in HI use Haltech and the tuners refuse to learn a new program when theirs works just fine. I've talked to Jeremy Brandt and he said he would give me a hand also. Finally, I can learn the EMS from a person and not the AEM forums. I'm stoked!! I can't wait to buy parts and not have to pay for UPS 2-Day ALL THE TIME TO HAWAII when shipping is free in the mainland. |
Badass car :)

[/b][/quote] Brandt can't tune a game boy! ;) (I'm a good friend of his) Why the fuck would you move from Hawaii to here. Your crazy! But either way you car looks fucking sweet, and your only an hour from some of the best DSM support in the Midwest. Just book your room for the Shootout. With a DSM you never know if it will be ready, just have the room just in case. Welcome to the site! |
Damn, another Matt... ;) Welcome!
I guess I'll have to be known as 1g Matt. :D |
Wow nice car. The set-up you got is something i previously concidered and still am. I was hoping to be the only one with it but i guess not. Hope to see you around.
Do any street racing? |

Anyway, welcome to the site. Rochester, eh??? You'll be only a few miles away from some good rallycross action if you wanted to come out and watch some real racing. Don't get me wrong, racing in a straight line is fun, but it just gets too boring after a while. Gotta throw in some dirty curves to have some REAL fun. Beautiful car too. Probably wouldn't want to race it on the dirt though. I always liked that style of talon. |

Damn, secondary injectors, I don't think Jet knows how to tune that combo. :stick: ;) Looks like we'll have a few fast cars this year. Welcome.
You must've hung around with Todd Hayashi, he's always had some great tech info back in the days of the Talon Digest. |
Welcome to the site Matt! Looks like an awesome 2G!!
You should at least make reservations for the Shootout...you can always cancel, but the hotels book up fast. The majority of us are at the Best Western, and all the details are in the General Events section. :D |

Todd folded his cards 3months after I moved here. Todd knows quite a bit. But he didn't know when to give up on the 7-bolt. He and Mike from DSS built 4ea 7-bolt engines in a row. Each of them never made it to the 100mile mark before crankwalking. He insisted the 7-Bolt was fine. After the most recent crankwalk he gave up and sold the car to my friend for $6k. We imediadely RMVD the running-walking 7-bolt and threw it in the dumpster. We also threw out the Old School Knob-AFC/VPC combo and Installed a built 6-bolt and AEM EMS. The car now runs 11s untuned; when we can keep axles in it. Todd still has DSMHawaii over for dinner but won't consider owning a DSM or racing again. Awesome guy and a DSM Hawaii legend. Thanks for the welcome, Matt |
Welcome! Your car should give some of the 1g's a challenge.
