Crankwalk
How much can a 2g usually be crankwalked before the sensor gets trashed? I have one in here with .066" of end play and thought the sensor usually died around .050", but I am not positive. I did a little searching, but couldn't find anything.

Re: Crankwalk
Oh boy do I love crankwalk... this is my car.
On a side note, anyone want a crankwalked 2g talon for cheap? :) |
Re: Crankwalk
How does the sensor look? Is it shot? Usually its anywhere between .050" to .060" for the sensor to fail. Starts rubbing around .030" from what I recall. .066" is pretty sloppy! :p
How much, what year, AWD or FWD? :D |

Re: Crankwalk
95 talon tsi in a nice blue color. The car is in pretty good shape overall. He will be posting an ad for it today, so lets keep this thread about the crankwalk. With .066" of play I was surprised it was still running!

Re: Crankwalk
I guess its a miracle car! Miracle, curse, all wrapped into one. It was throwing a code.... I just kept resetting the ECU and it would stay gone for like a week at a time.. Are you sure it hasnt already eaten up the sensor? I've never even gotten a good look at where the sensor is located.

Re: Crankwalk
The crank sensor is under the timing belt cover.
.066" is pretty far, if the sensor isn't gone now, it'll be gone very soon. |
Re: Crankwalk
What are the symptoms when a crank angle sensor goes?
|
Re: Crankwalk
The motor shuts off cause the ECU can't tell were it is.
